Location in the historic centre of Kaiserswerth
The museum is located in the historic centre of Kaiserswerth, in the east wing of the Kaiserswerth primary school (Grundschule Kaiserswerth).
Cross the playground of the Kaiserswerth primary school, keeping slightly to the right, and you will reach the Museum Kaiserswerth.
Coming from Klemensplatz, you reach the museum via the Klemensbrücke, then either turn right up the steps to "Auf dem Hohen Wall" or turn right into Fliednerstraße.
In Fliednerstraße, walk as far as the barrier and turn right behind it onto the school playground.
On foot or by bicycle
Kaiserswerth is pleasant to reach on foot or by bike along the towpath (Leinpfad) beside the Rhine, coming from either the north or the south.

By public transport
The nearest public transport stop for Kaiserswerth's old town and the Museum Kaiserswerth is "Klemensplatz".
From Klemensplatz, it is about a 250-metre walk to the museum.
The "Klemensplatz" stop is served by the U79 from Düsseldorf and Duisburg, and by bus lines 728, 749 and 760 from Wittlaer / Ratingen / Mettmann.
By car
Kaiserswerth can be reached via the A52 motorway, exit Ratingen/Kaiserswerth, and via the four-lane B8n (Danziger Straße), exits Lohausen/Kaiserswerth or Kalkum. Access to Kaiserswerth's old town is only possible from Klemensplatz, where Arnheimer Straße (from the north) becomes Niederrheinstraße (from the south) (formerly the B8).
Parking is very limited in the old town of Kaiserswerth, within the largely preserved fortification ramparts. In addition, from Saturday 4 pm to Monday 8 am, and on other weekdays from 8 pm to 8 am, parking in public spaces is only permitted with a residents' parking permit.
Directly outside the fortification ramparts, however, there are two free public car parks with access from Niederrheinstraße and from An St. Swidbert (roundabout) respectively, and one accessed from Arnheimer Straße (parking disc required). A paid underground car park is located beneath the Klemensviertel, with access from Alte Landstraße.
By boat
In summer, you can travel from Düsseldorf on the boats of the "Weiße Flotte" (White Fleet).
From the landing stage, it is about a 500-metre walk to the museum.
